In the world of telecommunications the mobile phone sector is growing at an unparalleled rate. In China
the rate of mobile phone sales has already overtaken the rate if fixed line. This seems to be a growing
trend that will soon follow into Europe. One of the fastest growing areas within this sector is the
boom in sales of offline handsets. As market grows, so do the numbers of companies trying to compete
within the sector. However there are a number of obstacles faced by both buyers and suppliers. These
obstacles are caused in part by the rapid growth and in part by inefficiencies that exists within the
market today. We will illustrate what the obstacles are and how we intend to enable buyers and suppliers

What are the problems facing the Industry today?

HANDSETS: Currently, there are several different network systems and numerous types
of handsets in use across the globe. These include GSM, PCN, Analogue, CDMA & PCS and this list
is set to grow with the onset of new systems such as GPRS and Third Generation G licenses. There are
3 main markets for these products; Europe, Asia & Africa (GSM/PCN & Analogue), Japan (CDMA)
and America (PCS & AMPS).
BUYERS & SUPPLIERS: There are several types of buyers and suppliers that can be
readily identified. They include Manufacturers, Network Operators, Agents, Distributors, Wholesalers,
Brokers and Retailers. Each has differing purchasing and sales strategies.
STOCK: Stock can be offered in various states or conditions. Theses can be broadly
categorized as: Original Sim Free, SP unlocked, SP unlocked, or New, Refurbished, Reconditioned/Second
Hand. In addition sale of stock may have conditions attached. For example the stock may need to exported
or disposed of, etc.
PAYMENT: Payment terms possibly pose the biggest barrier to entry into the market today.
Upon submission of an Irrevocable Confirmed Purchase Order (ICPO), the larger suppliers may require
a Bank Comfort Letter (BCL) and demand payment by Letter of Credit (L/C) from a well recognized American
or European Bank, others may require a deposit to secure stock.
Although this protects the suppliers form time wasters it is time consuming for all parties involved
and can have serious repercussions on the buyer's cash flow.
DELIVERY: Depending on the terms and conditions imposed at the point of sale, the current
location of the stock and the shipping location of the customer, delivery can be immediate or take up
to two weeks. The longer the delivery time, the greater the risk on the customer that the price may
drop.
PRICE: There are several factors that effects price, but the general trend is for prices
to fall over time as a phone is replaced by more current models. However due to the imperfect nature
of this market, prices vary almost on a daily basis.

The risk to suppliers is nil as we will either purchase the goods outright and in advance or pay them
a deposit against the whole, in good faith, at a pre-agreed price until the goods are sold.
Likewise the risk to the customer is nil as we will only accept stock from vetted and established suppliers
and all stock offered is inspected by our staff and is stocked in an approved warehousing facility.
The transaction process, as with everything else about the site, is very simple. The buyer can have
the stock inspected at our warehouse and pays by Telegraphic Transfer (T.T.) upon which we will release
the stock to their title and have it shipped or delivered as per the customer’s requirements.
